Kudumbashree Best CDS' announced


Kozhikkode.Edakkattuvayal (Ernakulam), Panamaram (Wayanad), Alankode (Malappuram), Nadathara (Thrissur), and Pambadumpara (Idukki) have been selected the five best rural Kudumbasree community development societies (CDS) in the State.

At a State-level training programme for CDS chairpersons, as part of the 15th anniversary of Kudumbasree here on Friday, Minister for Social Welfare and Panchayats M.K. Muneer told reporters that the selection was made on the basis of enrolment into ‘ayalkoottams’, grading, bank linkage, implementation of Ashraya scheme, Buds, women’s empowerment programmes, and implementation of novel ideas by each CDS.
The selection panel was chaired by Principal Secretary for Local-Self Government V.S. Senthil .
There were 28 rural Kudumbasree CDS in the fray selected from the five best CDS in each district.
A total of 16 urban CDS had complied with all norms for the awards.
Urban societies
The best five urban CDS are Koothuparamba, Kalpetta, Kasaragod, Palakkad north, and Cherthala. Pala received special mention by the jury and, hence, a special award will be given to the CDS. The best CDS will get Rs.2,75,000 each as cash award, citation and trophy while the best five CDS in each district will get Rs.75,000 cash award, the Minister said.
