Thiruvananthapuram CM has today said that Kudumbashree is a force that guides qualitative changes in the society and that it is a model for other states to emulate. He was inaugurating the insurance project for Kudumbashree neighborhood members and Kudumbashree travels.
CM said that for projects like providing pension to members of Kudumbashree, all support will be given by the Government. CM lauded the Ashraya project. Minister MK Muneer presided over the function. The insurance project that is jointly implemented by Kudumbashree and LIC would cover around 40 lakh members. The MoU regarding this was handed over to minister by PRGS chief of LIC Sanjay Varma.
As per the project, women members of Kudumbashree till the age of 75 would get insurance protection. The yearly premium is Rs 250 for members aged 18 to 59. Central Government will give Rs 100. Members need to remit only Rs 150.
Natural death of the members would give the nominee Rs 50,000 while accidental deaths would give Rs 95,000. Permanent disability would fetch member Rs 75,000 and partial disability Rs 37,500. Scholarship of Rs 1200 per year would be provided to two children of members studying in classes from 9 to 12.
