The Kerala State Education Department has decided to introduce a system of five-day working week for higher secondary school students from this academic year , scheduled to begin on July 1, 2014. This will be done by excluding Saturdays from working days.

Social Security Pension income limit reduced to one lakh

Govt have revised the eligibility criteria for social security pensions.As per the new order dated 20/06/2014 income limit reduced to one from Three lakh per year. Other pensioners will also get Social security pension if their income comes below one lakh.

MGNREGS - central govt seek suggestion from states

Central govt seek suggestions from states to the modification of MGNREGS guidelines. As per the proposals at least 60% of the works to be taken up in a district in terms of cost shall be for creation of productive assets linked to agriculture and allied activities through development of land, water and trees.

Annual Account Statement of GPF for 2013-14 from monday

The uploading of the Annual Account Statements (Credit Cards) for the
year 2013-14 of GPF subscribers of Kerala on Departmental basis.
The work is expected to be completed by Monday, 23.06.2014.
Do not flood the email with individual requests for copies of the Statement as it is not
feasible considering the number of over 3.5 lakhs GPF subscribers.

KSIDC to set up Angel funding of Rs 10 crore corpus

Kochi: Aiming to encourage budding entrepreneurs, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) will be setting up an angel funding with a corpus of Rs 10 crore for innovative startups this year, a top official Friday said.

The angel funding would be extended to any innovative project -- IT, bio-technology, agriculture or any other sector, KSIDC Chairperson Aruna Sundararajan told reporters on the sidelines of the Kochi edition of the Nasscom Product Conclave (South), which she inaugurated here.
