BLO new registration started
· 1.He/She should be a resident of the locality and a voter of the particular
booth to which he/she is to be engaged as a BLO.
2.He/She must be an employee of any Government Department, PSUs , LSGIs
3.He/She can be an Anganwadi Worker, Postman or a retired Government
Servant.
4.He/She should work in the same district as that of the booth.

Who is not eligible to apply?
· 1.He/She should not be an employee of the Financial/Banking
Institutions/Courts of Law.
2.He/She should not be a member of the forces like Police, Excise/Fire
force who is bound to wear uniforms.
3.He/She should not be a member/worker/having any allegiance to any political
party in the state.
4.He/She should not be an operating staff of the Kerala State Road
Transport Corporation.
5. He/She should not be an office bearer of any service organization.

Remuneration
· Any one appointed as a BLO is eligible for an honorarium of Rs. 6000/ per
year and a phone allowance of Rs. 100/month.
He/she is also eligible for a payment of Rs. 4/per verification report
submitted by him/her.
He/she is eligible for a payment of Rs. 100/- per meeting convened by
election officials.

IAY housing may go to Grama panchayaths
As per the national panchayath empowered committee's recommendation IAY housing may be given to panchayaths for thr smooth implementation of the schemes. The empowered committee says that all the centrally sponsored schemes must given to Grama panchayaths and empower the decentralization process .
Committee also recommended that the reservation for women, scheduled castes/tribals (SC/STs) and other backward classes (OBCs) in panchayat raj institutions should be frozen for two or three terms so that they get the same oppertunity as MPs and legislators to augment experience and knowledge, says an experts committee.

RD minister K.C.Joseph replied in Niyamasabha that there are 477 grade 1 VEOs and 977 grade 2 VEOs were working in the state.He also added that there is no order from RD department about VEOs attendance

Govt have issued an order to give permission to carry over the remaining amount to next financial year and implement the projects if the panchayath made more than 60% expenditure..Co ordination committee meeting held yesterday also decided to implement this carry over projects in April itself. see 2.13 of the co ordination committee decision.this meeting also decided that the SCP and TSP fund expenditure will not consider for the 60% cross bar.
