Thiruvananthapuram.Kudumbashree Community Development Society (CDS) Accountants will
take out a march to the Secretariat today in protest against the
government decision to terminate them from service.
“We entered service as CDS accountants in 2009 after a written test, computer test and interview conducted by the PSC. But the government issued an order dated March 26, 2013 terminating us from service with effect from March 31, 2013, without citing any reasons,” Nithya G, convener of the Association of CDS Accountants told a news conference here the other day.Kudumbashree accounts, which were once in disarray due to outdated accounting practices, are now easily available online owing to the hardwork of CDS accountants, she said. Alleging discrimination against CDS accountants, she said NREGS Accountants with the same qualifications were paid a salary of Rs 10,000 while they get only Rs 5,000.CDS accountants demanded the withdrawal of the GO terminating their service and asked the govt to allow the existing workers to continue in services till the mission period was over.
