THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government on Wednesday raised the dearness
allowance of staff and pensioners by 10 per cent. Finance Minister K M
Mani has issued an order in this regard. With the hike, the DA of
employees will increase to 73 per cent of their basic salary. The hike
will have retrospective from January this year.
The increased DA will be given to the employees with the salary of June while the pensioners will get it along with the pension of July. The arrears from January will be merged with the Employees Provident Fund. The arrears of the pensioners will be given with the pension of August.

It would nave been helpful to many had the Govt issued orders as usual showing the DA/DR hike to the staff and pensioners. Absence of such an order would only lead to confusions and contradictions by various depts. It is not a good sign of able governance.
