Thiruvananthapuram: The pay commission has demanded the state government to extend its of its term for one more year. When appointed, the government had fixed a 6-month term for the panel. But the commission is yet to get an office and required staff.
The 10th pay commission for making recommendations regarding the pay revision of state government employees was appointed on November 30, 2013.
Notifying the terms of reference for the panel, the government had appointed its chairman on December 10 and the term of the panel was fixed for six months. Accordingly, its term will be over by the month of June
But now the commission has sought extension for one more year. If extended, the panel report would be submitted by June, 2015.
